Years had passed since the meeting of the powers,

Though to them, it had only felt like mere hours.

The King looked struck at the darkening sky,

For approaching was a great mass from up high.

“Today is the day,” the King said below his breath,

For he was right, it was indeed the day of his death.

The Black Monster stopped high above the King,

And its voice called out with an echoing ring.

“You knew that this day was coming, oh great King,

A day that only I, the Black Monster, can bring.”

The King fell to his knees and he wept for his fate,

For the plans they had made, he failed to create.

“Great human King, you do not need to weep!

For your kingdom is grand and ever so deep.

There will always be kingdoms throughout existence,

Even if they seem to be an unreachable distance.

There are kingdoms that are big and kingdoms that are small

But all kingdoms will eventually hear my all-powerful call.

This is the way, and I know you don’t understand,

It is not the way that any kingdom has planned.

And with that farewell, oh great King!

In another Kingdom, there will be spring.”

The Half-Elf, the King, the Dwarven King, and the Dark Prince,

To agree on a plan between the four, the Half-Elf must convince.

She began her plea with something quite strange,

She began to say that there was nothing they could change.

The Black Monster was real, and it was certainly coming,

As if it was always approaching to the sound of dark drumming.

There was no way to know when it would really arrive,

But once it did, she was sure that no one would survive.

What the four must do is be ready for the day,

The day when every kingdom begins to fray.

“But what of other kingdoms?” the Dwarf frantically cried,

“It is impossible to get there,” the Half-Elf replied.

“These kingdoms are like ours,” the Half-Elf went on,

“But they are unreachable, no matter the brawn.”

The Half-Elf explained that they had two choices,

Live in fear or continue to value their own voices.

There are many ways you can value your life,

And with love there is one way to win this strife?

“So we can survive?” Was the King’s quick ask,

“No,” said the Half-Elf, “A new kingdom is the task.”

This was confusing for everyone to hear,

The answer she gave wasn’t very clear.

A new kingdom can be made but only through love,

Two kingdoms become one says the powers above.

This is the magic of life that I tell you now,

This is the origin of our kingdom, this is our how.

So the four kept discussing this mystery for months on end,

And through this love, the fear of the Black Monster would mend.

The Dark Prince was brought back to the King’s Palace,

And there he was allowed to drink from the royal chalice.

The King and the Prince sat for many days discussing dark affairs,

Speaking for so long that the King ordered for more comfortable chairs.

The Dark Prince warned of a premonition he had made,

A premonition that all throughout the lands should feel afraid.

It is of a blackness that will soon cover the lands,

One that he is not sure can be stopped by any hands.

The Black Monster comes to end all life,

The Black Monster kills without weapons or knife.

“Where does it come from?” asked the King curiously,

“It simply is,” the Dark Prince responded mysteriously.

It comes for all kingdoms, even those not of this world,

Hearing this, the King’s mind completely whirled.

For the King did not know that there were worlds other than here,

It is a strange thing for a King that thinks he knows all very clear.

At that moment, the beautiful Half-Elf had snuck in,

For the Half-Elf was listening through the cracks that were thin.

“What the Dark Prince says is true!” The Half-Elf decreed,

“And there are preparations to be made with great speed!”

So the King then sought out the great Dwarven King,

For if something needed to be done, the dwarf you must bring.

After the defeat of the Tyrant and his evil power,

A boy came from the ground almost like a flower.

The King approached this strange and curious child,

The boy was a light red and had eyes that were wild.

“Hello,” said the King, “and who might you be?”

The boy stepped back quickly and let out a plea:

“What do you mean? You know exactly who I am!

For I am the passion of the Tyrant, the sacrificial lamb.

I am the pain that was created from the big cracks,

I am the weariness of the Kingdom, sorrow’s tax.”

The King got down onto one of his knees,

For he could see there was no evil in these pleas.

“Come to me, child, and do not be afraid,

I can see that you are like me in the shade.

For I do know exactly who you are,

You are the Dark Prince born from a scar.”

And with that the Dark Prince smiled with tears,

It seemed like he had come to the end of his fears.

The Dark Prince ran to the King after hearing his charms,

And the King embraced him with strong, loving arms.
